Membership
Becoming a member of the SCP is one of the best ways to support the work of Christian philosophers. Membership in the SCP is open to anyone who considers himself or herself both a philosopher and a Christian. In particular, membership is
not restricted to any particular school of philosophy, to those teaching philosophy, to those with advanced degrees in philosophy, or to any branch of Christianity.
Benefits
Besides supporting the work of Christian philosophers worldwide, membership in the SCP gets you access to the Member's Only section of the SCP website, makes you eligible for SCP-sponsored grants, and provides discounts on conference registration for some SCP events and the annual conference of the
American Academy of Religion.
Dues
Dues are set by the Executive Committee and are designed to be both minimal (roughly a third of what the APA charges) and accomodating for students and underemployed members. With the exception of lifetime memberships, dues are for whole academic years with every one-year membership expiring on August 31st every year. *Note that this means if you join in the summer, your membership will expire at the end of the summer. If this happens, please email the
executive director to extend your membership an additional year.
The dues structure is as follows:
$45 Regular Membership
$10 Student/Unemployed/Underemployed Membership
$800 Lifetime Membership
