Conference Theme: “The Interior Castle: The Soul and Competing Visions of the Church”

The Society of Christian Philosophers and the Department of Philosophy at HBU invite papers addressing topics related to the soul and the soul’s relationship to the Church. We welcome papers that deal with ecclesiology, anthropology, Reformation theology, metaphysics and epistemology. In addition, we will happily consider papers on any philosophical topic. The Department of Philosophy at HBU encourages papers from both analytic and continental traditions.
In an effort to support excellence in undergraduate philosophy education, some sessions have been reserved for undergraduate paper submissions.
Undergraduate students are encouraged to apply by sending a completed paper. We are happy to announce that a stipend of $250 will be available for the best undergraduate paper submitted. Please indicate in your submission that you would like to be considered for this award. HBU students are not eligible.
Graduate students are also encouraged to apply. A stipend of $500 will be available for the best graduate submission. HBU students are not eligible.
Title, abstract (300 words), name, institutional affiliation, and the presenter’s membership status. The presenter has 30 minutes to present and 10 minutes for Q/A.
